Gamestart 2018

As with every year, the SGG team visits Gamestart organised by Eliphant - unfortunately, we didn't have a Singapore Pavilion this year. However, SGG was part of a really cool panel titled "How do I survive as a game developer?"  "How do I survive as a game developer?" panel (Photo: Adrian Kwong) Gwen (myself) had the opportunity to moderate a stellar panel of game devs - Shawn Toh from Battlebrew, Kang Soon from Joysteak, Desmond Hinkson from Republic Polytechnic and Carlo Arellano from Super Evil Megacorp (our guest from overseas!). 2 of our homegrown developers have also won Gamestart's indie award! We're really proud of them both, especially with Cubix being recent graduates of SUTD Game Lab's Game Innovation program. For 2017, alongside the new committee, we've done a little detour from the usual small events of our own and focused on forming a closer partnership with IMDA and local major game events. This post will be a quick rundown of what we've done as IGDA SG, major game launches/achievements and how you as a community helped the games industry!
